What kind of cactus?

A flower crown cactus, a golden barrel, and a bunny ear. also i probaly get 4-5 hours of direct-sun i get more than three.

I think it would be very good, Emily. I'm in Florida, and I only grow a few cacti (and they are all crested ones) but also have some Euphorbia that are sun dwellers. Mine are outside on a back lanai that has a roof, and don't get direct southwest sun, although they do get direct morning sun from the southeast....and they grow just fine.

and what kind of windows ..

id probably presume any modern double pane window.. is going to be ok in this situation .. presuming the heat doesnt build in the pots... or something else you arent even thinking of ... [like the window being cold in winter .. the actual glass since you are on the sill]

crikey.. youd expect a cactus of all things to not be able to stand a few hours of sun diluted by a window ....

of course.. there might be the old hardening them off to any new situation ...

I would say i get direct sun from 1:30-2:00 all the way to when the sun sets 7:30ish

i know that is more than 5 hours i just realized, in my original post i said 5 hours but i was kind of geussing. this is my window...

Emily what part of the world are located in? Texas/AZ/Austrailian sun is not the same as Minnesota/England/Nordic sun. So knowing this would help us more.
