We went to check the progress of our almost finished new build to find mud and water in the basement. it appears to be centered around the sump pump. There isn’t any moisture or mud coming from the walls at all. We have had bad storms in the last few days and the power went out in the area for a short time. Does this look like it came from the sump? The water has dried immediately around the pump but there is dried mud. Is this common for a sump pump with one power outage? Our contractor is going out ASAP in the morning to assess.
