Order Simpson or Trustile Interior Doors?

last modified: 5 years ago

We're planning to reframe our current closet openings and replace the 84" single doors with 84" double doors. We received quotes for both Simpson and Trustile Douglas Fir doors and the latter was significantly more expensive.

Given this is our forever home we're willing to pay more for better quality, but our designer advised going with the cheaper Simpson doors given we've gone over budget on some of our other purchases.

Is there a significant difference between the two door brands? Our door supplier (Ashby Lumber) wasn't able to provide much guidance and unlike other topics I've researched on Houzz I was unable to find much information to help me make an informed decision.

In addition to our closet doors we also need to order a pocket door to replace our current swinging bathroom door (the door with the hanging towel). Our pocket door options are a Simpson paint grade poplar wood door or a Trustile MDF door, both with a laminated glass insert.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
