Decoration Ideas please!

Do I need to remove/add anything else in here?

I wouldn't say you "needed" to, but if you'd like to add something, a small stack of books would look good under the two candle holders. It might look more balanced if the plants were in opposite corners.

Like it as is! Nicely done

It looks like a tic tak toe and it’s my turn to play another plant. I would like to suggest that you try to create some asymmetry… add books, a painting or photographs. At present there is no focal point… just a bunch of objects on a shelf.

Too much out oh HomeGoods. You need a personal touch like a family photo or books.

    Hey Ornela!

It looks lovely! Perhaps you could replace the plant on the middle shelf with a framed photograph, or standing books with ends to better hide the switch behind it. Its lacking a personal touch! And its all too neutral. Books and photo frames will add the much needed colour!

Oh and hey, Make a clear triangle with the objects. If they are ore or less of the same height, switch shelves or add height with books

Get rid of anything that doesn't have a personal meaning to you. Othewise, it's just a shelf in a store.

Remove the plant on the top shelf. Add books and photos.

Lean artwork in front of the outlet. Buy real low light loving houseplants. Add some color, unless you are going to monochromatic. Return the glasses and "love." What is the round item behind the "love?" Need items that soften (book stacks mentioned) such as something woven or beaded.

There’s a way to offer suggestions without being rude and condescending. Some posters here managed to do that. Others certainly did not.

I would want some color either by painting the back wall of the niche in a contrasting or complementing color or leaning a colorful work of framed art against the back.

I love it! Maybe switch the pineapple and the plant at the top. Try leaning art or a picture on the bottom ever so slightly behind the two candle holders. Also are those eye glasses at the top?? I love them!

Bottom line is if you love it, then do it! It’s your house so do what you want.

This looks okay if you are young and don't have many personal items. As you age you will collect items that are more personal: framed photos, artwork from travels, your great-aunts favorite Navajo pottery. Estate sales are wonderful for picking up unique decorative items and artwork. Also, as already mentioned, books.

Agree with others that artwork would be lovely. Something with color. You have a great eye, but I think a pop of color would really enhance the great work you have already done.

I think it would be fun to paint a bold color in that niche. Or maybe try some tile.

Hi Ornela. I agree that it's beautifully decorated, however, I would remove one plant and add a small book stack and picture frame.

    Love the lighting and shelves!

I would add a small stack of books and a 5X7 framed picture to break it up.

Like the other commenters, add a bookstack under 1-2 of the objects. Even a few books leaned against the wall (art books or cool vintage books) Framed photos or little paintings would finish it off. Otherwise, well done!

Yes, books need to be added to any bookshelf.
