Thanks for your inquiry. I order standard rods, and then have them cut down by the installer on-site. If they're wood, new holes need to be drilled into the ends for the finials (the finials have screws on the ends that screw into the rods). If they're metal, there is a plug that needs to be purchased that goes into the end so the finial can be attached. The plug is something that would need to be special ordered. I hope this helps!
