Hi - my island will be 93" long. Couple of questions about lighting:

1) Number of pendants: I was planning on this pendant because I like the diffuser in it. However, it's 14" in diameter and as such, I think 3 would be overkill.

2) So the next question: how important is it to have the glass diffuser at the bottom? I can't find a small dome pendant like this with it - they are all open. Can anyone comment on the quality of light if you go with an open pendant vs one that has glass diffuser? (ie if I chose a smaller pendant to have 3 comfortably).
