Is your behind-the-range tile concrete, or a porcelain that’s made to look like concrete?

I would go with white cabinets and paint the walls grey. When the grey fad goes away, and it will, you will simply have to paint the walls to update the home. Think ahead 10 years. This is why you will be advised to keep fixed, expensive items like cabinets and tile as neutral as possible.

Are you saying the patterned tile is 17 x 17? Must be a porcelain?

Many here are afraid of patterns and/or color! If you like it don't let them talk you out of it.

Hard to tell if you should do the whole backsplash in the patterned tile, or do a mix of pattern and plain, without seeing the layout of the kitchen.

No one is afraid of color. It's just a question of using color on expensive, hard to change items. Houses filled with wallpaper are hard to sell and go for less than the market rate because no on wants to have to replace or remove someone else's taste.

Go wild with color on your walls, furnishings, rugs, pillows and upholstery. Keep the fixed items simple and classic and neutral.

Love the tile, but, IMO, it belongs on the floor.

juddiana-This much pattern on the floor is quite too much. The tiles seem adorable but as other suggested go for complete backsplash.
