Monstera repotting x 2 a year. HELP!

last modified: 5 years ago

Hi there,In April 2021 I repotted my monstera after it was bursting through its pot and out grown its moss pole for the last 4 years. Complete soil change, root check etc.
My problem is the soil for the new potting mix plus the super large pot has left me with drainage issues. We had some sunny weather in the UK which quickly turned back into rain and I noticed my last watering session has left my Monstera a bit soggy. Not happy. What's worse is I've now got the dahm fungus gnats!
After a week of adjusting to the new pot in April, I've since seen an abundance of new leaf and ariel roots growth.
My question is can I risk taking it back out to clear the soil and essentially repot again so soon? It's a very hardy plant, I believe it can withstand the stress, but looking for tips.Unfortunately the same may also need to be done with my Jade and Kentia palm.Any advice on how to tackle the gnats and poor soil quality without reporting welcomed, or maybe just confirmation and support for reporting before September hits, would be much appreciated! 👍🏾
