Bookshelves DIY help!

I am new to this. I want to make a built-in look bookshelf on that ledge.
what kind of material should I use for the built-in? Store has so many options. What will hold best and/or paintable? I have no clue.
If someone can do a layout with all materials, mesaurements ,etc....I would be willing to pay! (Obviously I would give them the dimensions)

You need to do the homework and come up with photos of what you would like the end product to look like.

How deep is that ledge (front to back)? Is is wide enough to sit shelves on or does the lower portion of the wall need to be built out?

The ledge is 8.25. Figured I would sit a piece laying on the ledge that was 9 inches, and then below it put a trim piece?

Add a 2x4 behind the trim & you will gain another 1.5". I would mock it up to make sure it doesn't look top heavy.

Simple to build out the bottom portion of the wall if it does look top heavy.
