My cannas have long buds but the blossoms haven't opened yet. How long does it take to go from bud stage to full blossom state? The buds seem to still be growing but no flower petals have opened up yet. I have four President cannas that have buds, and all seem to be in the same state of "growing" buds. The plants are 4 to 5 ft tall and look healthy. Is it a matter of days or weeks before blossoms appear?
