hall paint/adding colour

I would like to add colour to my hall but I don’t want to have to paint the whole hall which continues up stars etc. Ideally I would just paint the back wall pictured (that has the console table on it) but there is no solid line to stop at. Do you think this will look odd or does anyone have any other ideas? Thank you!

I think you need to paint it all. Is the drop/height the reason you don’t want to paint this wall?

Thank you. Yes it’s just a massive job to paint the whole hall upstairs and downstairs

Instagram currently seems to be full of walls with painted colour blocks - ie mask off a large shape and paint inside!!! It certainly would be much cheaper 😂.
