Barn doors aren’t framed. They slide beyond the opening on rollers on a metal track attached to the wall. The barn door will be a bit wider than the opening it is meant to cover. There will be a stop at the right end of the track, and the track will extend to the left of the door far enough that the door will be fully off to the left of the opening when “open”. There will be a stop at the left end. Your door will need to clear the base moldings on the wall unless you remove them. If you don’t remove the base moldings, there will be a gap between the door and the wall on both sides. To avoid the several errors possible, I would have the door professionally installed.
