do not put a new plant into direct sun ... unless you know for sure.. it was grown in full sun.. harden it off to its new location ...

a lot of plants that have sun in the name.. are yellow..or yellowish .... and though i dont know if thats the case here ... lets try not to fix something that might not be broken ...

another reason not to put it in full sun ... is it might be in a smallish pot considering the size of the plant .. did you tip it out of its pot.. and see what the roots look like?? .. if they are filling the pot.. you might want to consider up-potting.. in a few weeks.. after it settles down first ...

a small pot.. with too big a plant.. in sun.. can lead to watering problems ...

I bought fiddle leaf fig tree - suncoast, it’s color is light green or almost yellow green. Is this because it’s still young? Or just needs more sunlight to turn dark green? It's not because of the tree's age.While it's common for new leaves of trees in the Ficus genus to emerge a much lighter green than the dark green they eventually turn by maturity, all the leaves on your plant cannot be new/immature. If age of the leaves was a factor, you could expect the older leaves to be darker than the younger leaves, and that isn't the case. I doubt you'll find it greening up appreciably as a result of it receiving more light, but it would definitely show it's appreciation if you were to gradually acclimate it to a spot where it gets full morning and late afternoon/evening sun. Protecting it from direct sun from around noon to 5PM will help limit leaf loss (due to a decrease in the light load) when you bring it in to over-winter.

I looked for information relative to any variance in leaf color from the species plant to the cultivar "Suncoast" and found nothing; so, either the leaf color is the result of the plant's genetic code, or it is the result of a cultural condition that would be more likely to be adverse than to favor the plant. The first suspect when a plant looks chlorotic (yellow) overall is a deficiency of N(itrogen). How long have you had it? Was it that color when it was acquired? Have you fertilized it? If 'yes', with what? Do you have any other houseplants giving you cause for concern?
