You can use the switch for something else.

To properly terminate, run the wall wire/cable into an electrical box you've secured to the cabinet side and clamp it. Put wire nuts over the end of the wires in the box and a blank cover over the box.

You would need to fish a new switch leg in the wall from that switch to whatever else youd like to do with it.

Replace the old garbage disposal with the InSinkErator Evolution Compact Quiet Series 3/4 HP Continuous Feed Garbage Disposal. Hardwire it and continue to use the switch. (This is an excellent disposal. Much quieter than the one it replaced.)

If the space where the disposal is now is going to be dark storage, then replace the disposal with a light. If you think you might need heat near there and its going to be drawers or something that won't lend itself to a need for light then put an electric toe kick heater there.

Hi, It may be possible to remove the switch and install a GFI outlet.

I guess I misunderstood. I thought he was replacing the hard-wired disposal with a plug-in one. I guess he's removing the disposal entirely and, for reasons unclear, wants to find another use for the switch.

Thank you guys. We are getting a new sink and dont feel the need to have a disposal anymore. I didnt like the idea of leaving a switch with no use (people turning it on without notice) and thought maybe we could use it for another electric purpose. I think we are going to tie off the wires and place a flat face plate on the outlet. Thank you all!!!

If you dont have under cabinet lighting, you could install that and have an electrician tie it in to that switch.
