Hi Ellen, I choose only comment on decorations , maybe not paint. Theres not too much I would do with paint since the white makes it spacious. That 4" width boundary of the kitchen and the living room/bedroom. ... i'd paint that dark violet or black and seek out those narrow edgings and keep a consistent detailing throughout the apartment.

What I like is the view out your window. I'd immediately take a photo of that red high rise and have that printed (~24"x 40" and framed and hung were your clock is now. The big clock can then be resituated where the two framed picture are behind the lamp. I mean if its too repetitive a view , on adobe photo shop you can solarize or invert the colors.. Or I could do a little Warhol'ish magic on the print for free.. up to you.

Maybe paint isnt the option for color.. Rather a really large plant or start two or three types of climbing ivy and just let it climb wherever. Or a young douglas fir xmas tree thats still in the planting pot.. you could try your hand at bonzai tree maintenance with something like that.. Otherwise..the missing touch is DIY.... ie join a pottery class and and make really interesting collxn of fictional bugs out of clay and then stain them with wild colors. A few of those on a new shelf/bookcase will work wonders.

The zany option is find a taxidermied pet in a pawn shop.. ie iguana or dog and then set up a nice shrine to him like you totally had a breakdown about their passing: LED lights and lots of bedazzling.

Maybe think about ceiling mounted curtains or screen or bookcase to add some privacy and delineation to your bedroom space.

What color curtains? Also what color dining set and console table?

How about a room divider from the inside.com? It would be a really versatile piece that could not only move around your apartment as needed but as move to new apartments with you. Tons of fabric options, I just screenshot a few of the blues.

And for a dining table consider the docksta from ikea, it’s round and inexpensive and a ton of chairs look good with it and you can easily add a tablecloth for some color and pattern which is easy to switch out as your tastes change

Hi I really like the contribution by decoenthusiast of that warm white with wood accents in third photo. It seems like a true white. Courtney Thomas designs San Marino is nice too; especially agreeing on plant accents ahead of a blue tone. I will revise my statement on paint to suggest a yellowed White with brown tones. I came up with this on trycolors.com. If they had a simple brown option it would be like brown 1, yellow 1, white 36:(no water) this tone shown is a bit too colored.
