Which particular glass tile are you considering? Some of their glass tiles aren't suitable for shower floors. For example, the Tozen Glow. I don't know who you consulted at which shop but I would double check the installation info on the manufacturer's site to be certain the tile suited my intended use. Here's the direct link to the Lunada Bay applications and testing info for their tiles. Also, once you decide on the best tile for your shower floor, make sure you know how installation materials might affect the look of the glass. I've read a few posts in this forum how glass tile can be tricky that way. It rarely ends up looking as transparent as the sample on the board does. You might also want to Google pics of installations of your chosen tile.

Yes! Considering the Agate in silk, and it’s rated for shower floors. I have read the installation instructions and my contractor is on board.

The size of the tiles would be the most important factor.

I have basketweave tiles in my shower and they are incredibly grippy even though the individual tiles are slick. When I rented a unit with 12" x 12" marble tiles they were slick as ice and dangerous because there was so much area to slide since there wasn't much grout as compared to the tiles.

Could you explain the reason for this recommendation, @Creative Tile Eastern CT? Is it to do with movement? Is this suggestion particular to the type of tile? Thanks in advance.

Small tile the weight of feet will probably telegraph thru to the foam pan and break the grout. Larger tile the weight would be spread out more. That is just my thoughts, not 100% sure though.
