Drawer pull installation

We hired a contractor for our kitchen remodel. Please tell me if you see anything wrong with this picture or am I just being overly fussy?

Pardon the title. I meant cabinet pull installation. Thanks in advance for your opinion!

Perhaps he figured you were too short for pulls in the more common position. There are no absolute rules on handle placement but these will appear to many as being too low. So what did he offer as a solution?

Thank you, @Sharon Fullen. That’s what I thought as well. A sub-contractor did this and I just now informed the PM. Since it’s a holiday weekend, I’ll wait until Tuesday for his response. These are brand new custom cabinets. They’ve already messed up the caulking and the painting. And now this. ☹️

They are right where I would want them. Most put them up to high. I like them down low on uppers and up high on the lowers.

If you had a preference, it should have been communicated via a note or diagram, or in person at installation.

They are on the low side, but I don't think they look so bad. The easier fix would be to pick a new handle with less overhang on the ends. Personally I don't love handles with overhanging ends because my sleeves get caught on them, but that is neither here nor there really. But there are plenty of handles out there that would work with that spacing but not extend to the edge.

Contractors, especially lower level carpenters, like to align things with things. A happy solution can be that the lower end of the handle aligns with the top edge of the Shaker molding, but this guy went with the lower edge of the doors instead. Neither is my cup of tea, so I test out possibilities with blue tape and am sure to tell the guys how I want them -- at this point, a "fix" involves filling holes and drilling new ones, which I don't think you want in your new kitchen. Try living with them (latest thing is always most glaring) and/or digging around for shorter pulls with a matching screw spread. Good luck!

I think they look fine and probably wouldn’t have noticed a problem. But, if you’re unhappy, best to discuss options with the contractor.

They are fine. It’s on you to inform the installer on the *front end* if you want a non standard placement.

I would need to know what your issue is with the pulls? I like much longer pulls but I have no idea of the style of your kitchen and honestly see nothing wrong I think unless you were very exact about placement you let him do what he wanted . I honestly cannot see you getting this changed without a lot of touch up work on the cabinets maybe never really matching since you will need to fill holes to change this.

    good one, whistle!

They didn’t follow the design. I guess we’ll just have to live with it as I’m afraid the more they touch it, the worse it will get. Thank you all for sharing your thoughts.

    They didn’t follow the design.

I'm not sure what this means. Did you give them instructions on where to mount them?

They do look a little low but i think its fine. To me he drilled the bottom hole in the right place prob where hes used to. My husband is installing ours today I already know its going to be a little high we dont want to drill on the mitered cabinet stile. Itll still be where I see pics of other handle so im ok with it.
