Need help on grafting Jujube

hi All, I need your help. I have a Li jujube tree (i think grafted) that i got last yr from a local nursery. Around 6 ft tall. With branches that are just 8 in long. I am planning to top it off with few other varieties. A friend of mine has another variety that he is willing yo share. Is it ok to do the grafting now? We live in zip - 90503 near LA ( 2 miles from beach). The tree gets around 6 hrs of morning sun. I can even move it to partial shade if needed

I think Kevin doesn't really understand the SoCal climate.

I would have no hesitation to graft in Sept. or Oct.

Be sure to keep the tree well-watered all through the process.

Best to graft in spring when tree wakes up. take scion wood from donor tree when dormant and keep in ziploc in fridge until ready to graft

@iochroma Thanks a lot for the coment. could u pls give me some more inputs.

i am planning to add few more varieties to my existing Li jujube tree. what wou be the ideal scion wood (graft). How thick? This yrs growth or last yrs growth. Also, should i just add one node or can graft a cutting with few nodes. shou should i keep the tree in sun or shade? i can give the graft some shade though with the other tree that is planted in another container next to that.

i just added few varieties yesterday. Around when can we remove the graft tape? can i keep the container in full sun(next to south facing wall)?
