    Good luck!!!
    Start with throwing out!!!!

There are some stuff I see in these pictures that are cool pieces. Save those, and start remodeling. And you’ll add them back in later.

Not sure if you have a plan or are looking for advice on the makeover. Before any makeover can begin, you need to thoroughly clean & de-clutter. Figure out what you really need & get rid of everything else (sell, donate or toss). You'll feel better!!

As you declutter be sure to keep that cute kitty.

i can’t wait to see what you do with the space. be sure to post photos during the remodel

Wow first time running into rude people on this app. Sorry everything's not perfect. If you look at my other post I have just moved in and have to clean out all my grandmas stuff as she lived here since my grandpa built and she had just passed. Trying to keep it in the family but also make it new and for me.

Not sure to which rude people you're referring, @Abby Barth, but remember tone is easy to misinterpret via the written word. I interpreted one post as hyperbolic in response to your description of a "complete disaster". You reference another post you wrote. Not sure we can assume everyone has read people's previous posts.

That said, how can we help you? "Complete" disasters aren't always as complete as we fear. My condolences on your loss. Dealing with a relative's home after they passed is rarely an easy task. Do you have a relative or friend who can help you clean out the stuff? As you probably know, that's the first step before planning to make this house yours. ETA: I see you posted this in "Home Disasters". I always took that category to mean a house with trashed structural integrity - after a flood or other natural disaster, for example. Is this the case with your grandparent's house?

Ya, I didn't go back and read your previous posts... you could have included that info here, it definitely provides context to the photos. But cleaning/decluttering is still the first step in any home makeover. I did it before my home refresh & got rid of 15 bags of "stuff". If you share better pics after you start cleaning I bet you'll get great advice if that's what you're looking for. It's nice you want to stay in the house your grandfather built, good luck.

Your bedroom has a lot of potential. Large room, nice windows. I wonder if you have the space to build out the closets and make two walk in closets. If your room is 14 feet wide where the closets are, I think you would.

Does the bathroom have a shower. Are you going to redo the bathroom?

tons of potential. I love the ceilings and all of the warm wood!

These are really great rooms...or at least interesting (bathroom). :) Should be a lot of fun to fix up. Take lots of pictures.

Does that orange cat have an extra long tail? Like, really long?

Do the items in the house being to you, or to your sweet grandma? I think you said many things would be going into storage? Do you have things you plan to add?

Just want to add that like yours, our bed is in from of the window, and we love the placement. We do have it pulled away about a foot so we can get to the windows. (If the bed were on the other available wall, we'd be looking at the bathroom every time we rolled over.)
