Max, is the space at the far end at side of stairs a”dead end” space with no opening under stairs? Either way I’m thinking the wall hooks would be better at that end rather than right at bottom of stairs.Maybe cooat hooks & shoe racks there too. The big wall along that aisle is great spot for big art as Lyn Nielson suggests. A mirror could go where the hooks are now.

Perhaps try a large plant right next to the door on the left, and a large piece of artwork for the blank wall. Here are some ideas from our designs that might just inspire you more.
