i was once told.. by the time you see the flower .. the requisite energy is already spent ... so removing the flower to save energy ..... is not really a thing ...

to me.. the question would be.. will the flowers be pollinated... and create VIABLE seed ... which i dont want germinating all over the yard... if that were the case.. i might be willing to put in the effort to destroy said ability .. in other words.. interfere with the flowers to avoid such ...

and all that would be limited by how large the potted tree gets .. its one thing while you can hover over it while standing safely on the ground.. but its another thing when you are working on a ladder because the tree eventually outgrew you ... thats where decisions need to be made about just not dealing or worrying about this issue .. and what will be.. will be...

The "leftover flower" would still take some energy to form the seeds right? Another interesting thing about them is that ants are attracted to them. You are right though that tree is awfully tall. It is kind of a pain to stand on a chair and reach.....
