We're in the demo phase of remodeling our 1984 kitchen and are removing the corner pantry and switching to a reach-in wall pantry full of drawers. I thought about it a lot because it feels like we're downsizing the pantry, but the drawers hold so much. We've lived in the house for 10 years with a corner pantry: the corner is awkward looking and an inefficient use of space. Having a family, the door is constantly left open and light always on, so it looks messy. I also feel like it doesn't look as high end as a pretty run of custom cabinets, like what you could have in your kitchen. I'd definitely go with a larger window about the sink. What other sources of natural light will you have?
