Flooring Home Decorating Design Dilemma

Vynil vs cork and budget

Hello. I just got my first apartment. I want to change the carpet for either vynil or cork floors. Does anyone have any lessons learn to share or pros and cons. The apartment is 572 sqf. There is a bathroom and kitchen with tile so I am doing a rough estimate of 430 sq that needs to me changed. Does anyone has an idea of how much this would cost?? Thank you

Go to a flooring store. the options are too varied to advise. A very decent LVP can be had for five bucks a square foot........but it needs to be installed.

You should also check your building "rules". Some multi level buildings do not allow a hard surface in areas not considered potentially "wet". Look before you leap.

When we were making flooring choices most recently we found cork is counter indicated where it might be wet, it has a NASTY glue that is part of the installation. There are many variables before you decide.
