I get confused over grasses; there are only half a dozen that I could name. However, if the grass is a native this SITE is a good place to look. Just choose Grasses under Collections. You can then further narrow the search by choosing an ecoregion, such as Edwards Plateau, under Distributions and so on.

Roselee, it looks like a Setaria species. There are 16 Setaria species in Texas, 10 are native, and 6 are introduced. They are difficult to tell apart. Your plant looks similar to Setaria leucopila, but it could well be a similar looking species.

If you're on Facebook, there's a group called Texas Flora where you should be able to get an ID if you join the group. Floyd Waller is really good with grass ID's.

Without a clearer photo Floyd Waller won't do any better, but maybe, because he's a professor. He's also in the grass identification group at facebook.

I joined the group because some friends I know are in it. Floyd is good, he really knows a lot.
