How long have the skylights been installed?

Because they are not awful; I think they look good and, in short order, you will adjust to them.

Who is the manufacturer? Where is the home located? What style was installed (i.e. curb vs. deck mount)? Why would they offer credit back in this situation?

A curb swap is easy and doesn't disturb the installation. If they are curb mounts, you can order just the window unit and you can get them in a clear glass, with laminated glass, to preserve the most true day-lighting and still have some efficiency in them.
