Those are really lovely blooms. I am glad you are getting beautiful babies out of Dearest Valentine. I especially like Everything You Desire X Dearest Valentine #2.

It's really fulfilling when one of your own turns out to be a good breeder. I need to cross Dearest Valentine with something next season.

Caroline paleface X Dearest Valentine #1 and Zuzus Treasure X Dearest Valentine #2 look so similar, what are the differences you see?

Hoosier Nan - Thanks for your comments! The Everything You Desire kid you like has a pretty bloom. I hope it improves on buds and branching next year.

Sherry - I like them all. The first pink one is the seedling I've shown before that gets between 26 -44 buds per scape. And it has multiplied from 3 fans to 10 this year. So it's the star performer of these. Of the two near whites you asked about, they do look different in person. The Zuzu's Treasure kid is round and has pink undertones, while the Carolina Pale Face kid has longer more triangular petals and has light yellow undertones in cool temps. In it's first year, the CPF seedling had 9 buds and a scape in the 20s. Carolina PF #3 has the best plant habit of that cross with 13 buds, and it multiplies much faster than the other two. I really like the gold edge it has. The white Zuzu kid has bud counts ranging from 17-34 and scapes in the 30-inch range. Of the reds, Innocent Discovery x Dearest Val. had the highest bud count - 17 - and I like its edge the best. It's also the fastest multiplier of the reds. The lavender Zuzu's Treasure multiplies rapidly and reblooms on nearly every scape, so it's a keeper for me, even though it may never be registered because of its modest bud count (11-14).

What a lovely variety of colors you have gotten from Dearest Valentine!!! I like all of these! I love the reds but the whites are stunning as well and such a pretty lavender on the Zuzu’s Treasure seedling. Strong genes in DV for beautiful seedlings! Thanks for posting all these.

Maryl - The lavender Zuzu's Treasure kid blooms late into the season. It fades somewhat on very hot days, but still has a pleasing lighter color at the end of the day. Unlike many lavenders that take on tan tones when temps are in the high 90s, it always has clean color.

Thanks to everyone who mentioned Everything You Desire X DV 2. It does have a striking bloom. When I posted it before, there were lots of comments on it. In its first season, it only had 9 buds on both original and rebloom scapes. We'll see if it improves next year.
