Maybe even mice have trouble IDing safe mushrooms....

the fur makes me think cat ... like someone drooled all over it ...

though im sure.. if you put the shroom on the market.. someone will pay money for it.. lol ...

LOL, I read the title fast, and misread it as moose control (I think there are moose in MN.).

OMG, I was sitting on my deck yesterday, a gentle breeze was blowing out of the bamboo forest behind the house, it smelled like death. It's got to be a deer. It's dark and buggy back there and I ain't exploring for dead things. Sure enough it was not very long very a huge, black vulture was circling. Those birds are amazing! We never used to have that species year round in NJ, now the black vultures are sharing the skies with the turkey vultures, red-tailed hawks and bald eagles (all of which have made a comeback in the inner suburbs).

The juxtaposition of the dead mouse with the mushroom may be misleading and nothing more than coincidence :-) Wild animals tend to know instinctively through thousands of generations of learned behavior what is safe to eat and what is not. If this were not the case, we should be seeing scores of small dead rodents during fall mushroom season!!

ever part of a P is poisonous ... except that spud .. i try to image all these dead cro-magnons laying around.. wonder how many it took for the last guy.. or woman.. to get down to the spud itself... and then figure out to roast it ... lol

its not like they watched some animal digging it up and tossing everything aside.. and then roasting it ... im sure they watched the monkeys in the forest trees eating and reject various fruits .... do elephants dig up roots??? .. just so many questions.. and so little time left ...
