Custom Lawn Striping kit

I have a cub cadet rzt 42 inch zero turn mower made in 2011. They do not make a striping kit for this mower. I want to build my own by adding rubber to the back of the deck. If the deck is diagonal instead of perpendicular and the rubber is attached to it will it stripe correctly?
