Wait until summer. Prune the top back hard, very hard. The plant will back-bud proximal to (below) the pruning cut(s).

Yes. Allow cuttings to callus in a dry place out of sun for at least a couple of days before you stick them.

I'm sorry but the plant in question looks nothing like Euphorbia trigona....or any other euphorbia I am aware of. Not sure what it is but I'd wait for a positive ID before I started chopping it up. Some plants do not respond well to that treatment.

Try posting in the Name That Plant forum. One of the ID experts lurking there will np doubt be able to ID it.

Maybe Euphorbia tortilis.

Perhaps E bougheyi??? Definitely not trigona. That’s a great-looking succulent, not designed by nature to look ’full on the bottom’. Just enjoy its rugged character as it is meant to be imo.

Milney - if you cut it back hard, it will get bushier by way of back-budding. It's your plant, so enjoy it the way you want it. We see plants every day that have been allowed to grow way out of bounds, making impossible the grower's realization of whatever vision was once held for the plant without a major deconstruction and rebuilding to put in place a framework it makes sense to try to build on. The ability to prune judiciously creates additional pruning opportunities that allow you to take control over what the plant looks like instead of the plant just having its way.
