This is my first time owning a home and first time hiring a contractor. The one I've chosen seems great. They came to check out a house I was buying on separate occasions to give my opinion on renovations if I were to buy it. Without me needing to pay them a fee for those visits. All my plans they agree with and say they can be done.

The only potential problem is before we've even started, there's been a drop in communication which has me second guessing. They told me they'd contact interior designers to start the renovation planning process and they said "I'll report back later this week.". That was on Sep. 27th with no contact since.

I don't know if this sort of thing is normal and I'm being trigger happy? As I said I have very little experience regarding contractors. All I know if I'm a bit stressed and wondering "if they're late at the very first step, will it get worse?".

No contract has been signed or anything paid for.

I know delays are normal in construction, but I hoped for an update and I'm not even sure if I'm supposed to followup and feel like I'm pestering them.
