Go to your local independent tile stores and they will have a large selection of porcelain tiles in a range of prices. Each tile shop might get an "exclusive" for a certain line, so you really want to visit several tile shops to see what is out there. The tile I ended up using was only carried by one store in a 50 mile radius.

Sunny Calcutta was recommended to me. When I saw one tile I loved it, but like you I am reluctant to commit because I fear when all together it might not be as subtle. Does anyone have experience using Sunny Calcutta ?

Thanks for the suggestions! I just looked at Sunny Calcutta. It's pretty, but it might not be as subtle as I'm looking for. I have read to make sure to look at more than one tile since they can have so much variation.

I love the Porcelanosa Glem White find. Are you trying to use same tile for wall and floor? If so, you can mixed polished v. matte, like I did (as long as you’re okay with the subtle tone differences between the two).

One thing to be aware of is that Bedrosians has a very finicky return policy. So be sure to get sample pieces before buying in quantity.

Thanks Julie R! I was thinking of using the same tile on the walls and floor. I like the look of the polished on the walls, but I am concerned about the difference in tones if I used both polished and matte, so I'm leaning toward just using matte. Staying away from mosiacs because I don't like the grout.

This is San Giorgio Viola Matte porcelain tile in 15 x 30" from Floor and Decor. I am not sure they have that exact tile now, but it has a very subtle vein pattern. Not stark white but just a hint of cream. Floor and Decor sells samples and has a fantastic return policy.

Walker Zanger doesn't make most of their tiles ... they are just rebranded at their showrooms, but when you get your order it will be packaged from the original manufacturer! I was really annoyed by them recently as they also told me the tile had no matching matte mosaic tiles, but once I got the main tile and saw the manufacturer, I was able to google and see that there were companion tiles offered ... WZ just chose not to carry/offer them.

We ended up using Magnifica The Thirties 30" x 30" in polished by Bedrosians Tile. It's the same they used on the show except they used honed. I wish I could've used the slabs, but that was too expensive. I still love the look and there are only about 4 grout lines! Hi pdxmon6- Here are a few photos. We used polished large format on the shower walls and main bathroom floor and matte for the shower floor. The polished on the bathroom floor is a little slippery, so I'd probably go with matte for all the floors if I had it to do again. Also, I wanted to do a linear shelf like the inspo picture, but we thought that wall was weight-bearing, and I didn't want to spend the extra money for that. Hope this helps!

Hi Kpenni. You are brilliant. Thank you so much!! You're project turned out beautifully. I know you wanted that wall length niche like in the inspiration photo but I think your bench looks great. You did a really nice job with your remodel and I REALLY appreciate you posting photos to help people like me. The tile looks really lovely. May I ask how big your shower is? I wanted to do a niche on the shower head wall as well (multi level like yours) but not sure if I have the room. Is your shower head centered to the wall of off center? I also wanted a bench like yours but was worried that If I add a bench, the shower would feel tight but yours looks really spacious even with the bench and niche. Thank you so much again.

Hi pdxmom6, Sorry it took me so long to respond. Thank you for the kind words! I am really happy how it turned out. The shower is 5' X 2 1/2'. The shower head is centered to the wall. It doesn't feel cramped with the bench and it's great for shaving your legs! I also really love the shower head. The water pressure is amazing! It's from WaterMark in Brooklyn. Hi Kpenni. No worries at all. Thank you for replying. I can't believe your shower is 5' X 2 1/2'. It looks so much bigger. I'm still in awe how the niche fits so wonderfully next to your shower head and handheld without making the space look overcrowded. Same goes with the bench on the opposite wall. My showers are also 5' as well so now thanks to you, I can properly envision what my showers could look like if I incorporate a niche and bench is the space. Thank you SO much again.
