No problem, as long as you don't mind getting muddy. They recommend you water after planting to start the winter root growth anyway. Mother Nature is doing it for you.

Just try not to walk on the garden too much as you plant because feet on wet soil causes soil compaction which is less helpful for good plant growth in general.

A little off subject, but this fall I bought a bulb augers that goes on a drill at Home Depot. Sooo much easier to plant bulbs especially inbetween perennials . I plan on using it in the spring to plant annuals.
