This is what I'm leaving behind

LG's WM4000, WM4200, or WM4500 with the Pedestal Twin Washer. Improvements are TurboWash 360 and the Heavy Duty cycle now has Extra Hot wash temperature as an option. I just looked at LG's Canada site and there are updated models to what I just wrote. WM3850 & WM4100. The WM3850 doesn't have TurboWash. I think the WM4000 & 4200 are U.S. models and the WM3850 & WM4100 are Canadian models. The WM4500 is also sold in Canada.

Thanks Boba1. I use the TurboWash feature on 100% of my washes and wash almost exclusively in hot water so this makes me happy. I use the pedestal washer I use for activewear mostly since the highest temperature is warm.

Any thoughts on Electrolux? I really value the opinion of this forum who understand the intricacies of the features of modern laundry.

I just got the electrolux. Two months in and they are great.

I had an electrolux and kicked the washer to the curb after 4 1/2 years. I think it was the 626?? It was fully functioning and looked basically brand new. I babied that thing to make sure we didn't have any mold issues or stinky clothing. I dried the boot when done with washer for the day, dried detergent drawer etc. Guess what? No mold in the machine. It was pristine but the clothing developed biofilm and stunk to high heaven when they got wet. After I would run the cycle my laundry room stunk. The smell that would hit me when I opened the washer door was disgusting. My story is somewhere on this forum. I used stpp, didn't overdose detergent, used affresh tabs monthly. Washed clothing on warm, heavy cycle with heavy soil cycle chosen. The wash cycle was close to 2 hours and still ended up with stinky clothes. Before figuring out it was actually the clothing that stunk I ran multiple sanitize cycles with bleach. multiple tub clean cycles with affresh tabs. Ran hydrogen peroxide through the machine and vinegar. Didn't change a thing. We even opened up the washer to look to see where this nasty smell could be coming from. The thing was pristine inside. Smelled really clean. I put my nose to the hoses, pumps and anything that was in there. No smell. I really didn't want to have to spend the money on a new washer but was at my wits end. We got an LG3900 and couldn't be happier. I did have to run several sanitize cycles with ammonia to get the stink out of the clothes but once I got the stink out I haven't had any problems since. I would never buy an electrolux again.

Which model nycbluedevil_gw? Which features do you find most useful? I feel lost since I haven't looked at models in 2+ years and am worried about the current appliance shortage.

Omg vinmarks, that would drive me crazy. I'm obsessive about my machine's maintenance and wash my daughter's white uniform shirts with hydrogen peroxide and Oxiclean weekly. Since we're selling, out of curiosity I decided to check the trap at the front of the machine and after 2 years it was almost pristine. Same thing when I checked my seals. I'm going to look at some models hands on but may just stick with LG since I'm very familiar with it.

I have been using a new Maytag set for almost three months now and love them. The basic washer didn’t have a onboad heater to sanitize so I went one step up. Very pleased. They are super quiet and the dryer is amazingly fast.

If you can find a speed queen set, I highly recommend them. They are smaller and have an agitator, but clothes come clean and dried within an hour!! My LG used to take over an hour just to wash. And all speed queens come with their own warranty and are expected to run for 25 years! I have had multiple sets (before my favorite would have been the old GE harmony), but have never been as excited about a washer/dryer setup that feels like it will last as I am with these.

Get an LG front load washer and matching dryer. Don't buy from Tasco.

Mrs Tad Hacker, I wouldn't even know where to start to find one in Canada and can only imagine that it would be $$$. I don't mind the long cycles on the LG and routinely double rinse every load. I'm a front load lover and enjoy being able to customize my settings for each load. As seen in my picture,  there are multiple types of detergent and additives that are used routinely. None of that is part of a detergent hoard. Now if the Speed Queen could automatically move the clothes from the washer to the dryer, I'd be on board! LOL

I don't like the Speed Queens simply because they do not have onboard heaters. That is a non-starter for me.
