I like the first one because it feels more powerful for the person at the desk and because the room seems oriented around the person there the most - can look out the window, etc. Depends on how you work, bu the other element is that if more storage is needed for the person at the desk, it would be available in the back corners and largely hidden from view. Tree and turtle might need to swap places.

I like the first, but would the glare from the back window on the computer screen make it too difficult to work?

I like the first, but I don't like the cord traveling from the wall to your computer. Is there any other outlet that cord can travel to? I would also worry about glare, but I suppose you can get one of those anti-glare screens.

As much as I like the first set-up, the light will cause a glare on the computer screen and the cord hanging is not attractive. I also believe the two chairs you want to incorporate in your design would fit better in the second set-up.

The first one looks better. However for a powerful look the desk should face the door and have a small sitting area if there is room one. Another power layout would be the opposite of the second picture. This would put the window at your back.
