Hardwood floor install

Hi! We're having our floors installed with a raw maple flooring and I've never done this before and want to make sure what I'm seeing is OK. could anyone chime in who has experience? My main concern is that there are small thin spaces between some of the boards. It hasn't been finished, sanded or sealed yet, they're just laying it now but it is nailed in. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Bad millwork from the manufacturer, not the installers fault. Not every board will be milled perfectly. Cutting tools get dull and deflect. It will not cut exact size. Tolerance allowed is 1/16" max. Beyond that, boards should be swapped out. What you have can/should be filled with wood filler. Ask your installer about it. Otherwise, the installation looks good.

Thank you, I didn't know about the 1/16". They seem to be less than that so I assume it's "correct".
