Stiff Stems & Slighty-Toothed Leaves?

This plant was found growing along a mowed riverbank. It has slightly-toothed leaves about ~2" long. I was hoping it was regrowth from a regularly-mowed colony of Prairie Phlox I'd found around there before...but its leaves seem too wide for that (or also Horseweed)? So, any idea what it is?

Yes, went back and found one blooming...definitely an aster! Any idea what type, exactly? Looks similar to Roadside Aster (Aster exilis), but it has wider leaves?
And I also actually did relocate the old Prairie Phlox nearby, too!
