Paint it to blend in - so cream. Use a wood filler before painting to get a smooth surface. Also paint the trim.

I can't paint the trim it will look odd with the rest if the kitchen. What would I be using wood filler for??

PS Use a top brand latex eggshell sheen. Lay the door flat. Use premium paint.

the wood color goes perfectly with the cabinets. but you have to replace this door because the old one is drafty? in that case, I also vote cream. it will blend in just fine with the surroundings. don't paint it grey. there's nothing in that room that would go with a grey door, and nobody paints something to match a stainless appliance.

Until you are ready to remodel your kitchen, I would leave this door in its natural state. No one but you will notice. And, as you say, it goes outside. It need not match the others, in my opinion.

Sorry ot does not go outside. It leads to the back hall of our extension which is drafty. It will be white as its pre primed. It's pretty stark next to the dark brown molding. I was thinking even a med grey to blend with the refrigerator might be better than just leaving it white for the next two yrs.

Re no grey. I am replacing all the doors in the back hallway that is parykt ou our extension as they are old hollow stained doors and moldings with damage. I am putting in new solid wood doors and they will all be white and repainting the moldings white.

This door leads to that hallway and is part of that hallway.

The question is really what to do with this white door on the kitchen side. So far I hear match the walls cream color and no grey.

when it's cream it won't look so stark next to the trim.

IF you still think cream will be too stark, consider blue. it will look pretty with that wallpaper. choose a shade from your tile, and don't worry about it being too dark. when the time comes to paint over it, prime it first.

I will look at cream and blue as a possible... blue because of the floor? A pale true blue? Like a sky blue?

like a medium or dark blue -- grab samples and hold them up against the floor tiles to match.
