lower portion of the above tree with 3 stems

I'm not good with trees, but to me this looks like Acer platanoides. It also resembles Acer sacharum in the leaves. The bark looks most like platanoides also. I don't see any resemblance to truncatum. I also looked at a couple truncatum x platanoides hybrids, also, and they don't match either. What is it about these trees that reminds you of truncatum?

There are regular Norway maples a short distance away (on the same property), and both the leaves and bark of these 2 trees are distinct from the Norways. I'll try to get some better photos this week for comparison.

Never seen a straight Norway maple turn red -- always yellow/golden yellow. And the yellow-leafed one above has leaves not quite like Norway. Sorry can't offer more -- some maples look very similar to others.

Based on a closer look at them today I'm going to go ahead and call them hybrids. Apparently these two species hybridize fairly readily (as evidenced by a number of cultivars now in commerce). Also came across this link from Trees and Shrubs Online: Acer platanoides x truncatum
