Does anyone have any experience in wiring up a solar panel that could offer some advice?

Lighting is easily doable, but a fridge probably is going to take a more elaborate solar system than you likely will want to add to a shed.

I think the first question that must be answered are the laws (Local,federal, HOA) regulating sheds. In North Carolina, adding electricity and water to a shed would require a building permit, and a follow up inspections.

I agree Ron Natalie, that that lighting and similar low amperage projects are doable.

Items with high amperage requirement. Table saws, refrigerators, ac unites, etc are going to significantly in crease the size and cost of a system.

I didnt even think about laws around this kind of thing. Probably a good idea to look into that! I'm in the UK so at least there shouldnt be state level complications.

Ok, so I suppose a fridge is out question then! Maybe that was a bit too hopeful to have some brewskis chilling for a cheeky drink haha.

My parent had a travel trailer, and it had a refrigerator. As I remember it it ran on the 12 volt battery. I know there are small 12 volt refrigerated, coolers. So you may check into what is available for camping and travel trailers (Caravans on your side of he ocean?)

Even with a trailer/camping type of refrigerator, it may still increase the size of the Solar electric system.
