Sorry, last sentence should say “Is it ok for shades not to match?”

I only see two of your photos; the 2nd isn't showing.

Also, I'm totally not following the layout and where you are talking about putting the lamps. Maybe a quick sketch showing the sectional layout with possible lamp positions marked as A, B, C.

I don't think shades have to match, but as with a lot of things, whether two different shades will work together depends on the details--what color, shape, and style the shades are.

Good idea. My drawings are bad, but hopefully it gives a better idea.

It depends on the height of your table, but the table height and the lamp should add up to this number as seen below.

I don't think your arc lamp extends enough over the sectional.

There are two sizes for the Batovia lamp. The larger size gets me closer to the height. I did find this that has a matching shade color. Would it look better then with the three different lamps?

Thanks for the sketch; that helped enormously.

The arc lamp you originally proposed looks like it would put light over the corner of the sectional. Whether that is enough extension seems like personal preference. I do think the arc lamp will be nicer for the corner than the straight floor lamp.

I quite like the table lamp, but I don't love the non-arc floor lamp. I don't think it works very well with the table or arc lamps and it's my least favorite of the three.

Thank you. I like the straight lamp, but it is proving difficult to find to purchase anyways. I may just wait until the furniture is here, then revisit this. It’s going to take 10-12 months for the couch and ottoman apparently.

When the time comes to purchase the lamps, if I can’t match the color of the shades, like if one is beige and one white, but they’re a similar shape, is this ok?

10-12 months, ouch.

I think it's okay to mix shades. But you can also buy the lamp you want and replace the shade. It's an extra expense, but if mixing colors ends out bothering you, it's an option.

I do like the beige shade, but maybe looking enough I could find one like that. The arc lamp has the same color, but there’s some other nice arc lamps with white shades.
