It is perfectly ok to mix sizes. A handle that is "too big" will just look wrong. The picture shows that you have slab drawers - is that correct? I would do a smaller handle or even the coordinating knob on the 9" and 12" pullouts and then do the rest 8 1/2".

If you want to keep them the same size, you can put them vertically on the small pullout bases.

Thank you, Debbi. That is a great idea. The sketch is for illustrative purposes. These are Shaker style and all drawers are 5-piece. For the drawers, would you recommend putting the bar pull on the rail or to center them (keeping in mind that they would be on the rail for the full-height pull-outs? )

5pc drawer front make the difference here. I have seen people put the handles on the top rail of the cabinet - I'm not a fan at all. Its fine for a pullout because that isn't a drawer - its really a door. So now you need to see how big the space is to put the handles and size accordingly.

If you have a standard shaker, the 8 1/2" probably won't fit the 15" cabinet so that will need to be smaller as well .

Do you have your cabinets installed? I would suggest getting a handle sample and hold it up tot he cabinets and see what you think.

Here's a little more clarity. Drawer sizes are 21", 24" and 30" only. My preference for these would be to put the handles in the middle of the drawer. I asked about putting the pulls on the rail because all the other base cabinets (except the corner Susan and those to the left of the microwave) are pull-outs, not doors. I would expect that these pull-outs will have bar-pulls on their top rail. So... I am concerned that it will look odd to have the bar-pull on the rail on the pull-out and bar-pull in the middle of the drawer just next to it.

I used three different length pulls in my kitchen, and installed them on the rails. Lower cabinets and drawers horizontal, uppers vertical.
