I want to put in a plug in overhead. It would plug in on the side where the bookshelf is. But where should I place it? I know convention says it should be centered over the table. But I am always trying to "be innovative" and think maybe centered between the table and bookcase.

I really want an overhead light because I hate eating with the yucky flouresecnt. So I guess I really want an overhead that will illuminate the table but not necessarily hang over the table. Am I asking too much. Can i off center a hanging light over the table?

What are your ideas and suggestions? Thank you for your time.
