can you post a pic of the type of situation you are referring to??

i gave up my bow saw.. when folding tree saws care along ...especially at height .... you can fold it and put it in your back pocket so as to not drop it.. and simply getting rid of the bow itself helped a lot ...

i hope you make the first cut at least a foot or so out... and then make the surgical cut you need... removing hanging weight greatly adds to precision ... and in many cases allows you to come at it cutting toward the trunk instead of away ...

so i suppose its one or the other.. either the tool or the method that is the base issue ...

Blade pinch is the only issue. And it is no less an issue in hanging weight removal cuts, because cut items must be prevented from reaching things below.

and all other directions of members at cutting point. Rectilinearity of members is not to be assumed.
