Lol. It’s been years since we painted. although I would like to repaint I’d rather decorate first. The walls are a gold color and the accent walls brown. So you wouldn’t put a mirror anyplace? Or lamps on the sideboard?

We need to see the whole room, not just the two back walls, otherwise, we are all just guessing. The first thought, paint the walls all the same color, or two colors that are on the same scale. Nothing goes above the TV I think painting that wall alone will help a lot.

You have accent lighting for the wall above the sideboard. You determine if buffet lights might be needed AFTER you place all the family photographs.

I might consider a floor lamp in the corner of the room to brighten the area.

What will a mirror over the fireplace reflect? If it's nothing interesting, you're better with a canvas over the fireplace as there is so little color in the room.

We don't think you need anything above the TV. For over the fireplace we might suggest just doing one large vertical piece of artwork and for over the sideboard you could easily do a gallery wall. Here are some designs that might help you move forward from your dilemma.

Beverly’s example shows a good size for art above the fireplace. Nothing else on the mantel, and nothing above the TV. Really like the gallery suggestion for the sideboard.
