What countertop for SW Alabaster cabinets?

We have Alabaster (SW) painted kitchen cabinets and I would like a simple white countertop. I like movement, just want it to be subtle. We are looking at quartz, but I can't find a good neutral white. I'm terrified that I will pick one that doesn't compliment our cabinets. I don't want to change the color of the cabinets since all of our trim and doors are being painted to match. Would love suggestions. Pictures would be great, too!

Pictures will not help you . You need to have samples to bring home. IMO make sure all your lighting is LED 4000K before shopping for counters and I think plastic quartz is avery bad choice for kitchen counters so I would look at some white granites instead. Take a cabinet drwer front with you if possible then look at slbs outside with the door in hand . 4000K mimics daylight so that is why you want to look at slabs in daylight .

I'm okay with going back to granite, but want something very simple and light. I haven't seen many granites that are "white" or that don't feel busy.

I can tell you how I'd tackle this.

Buy a Color Muse. The app is easy.

***In Settings for the app make sure it is set to Illuminant D65 and 2 degree observer***

Take it with you shopping for counter tops.

Measure each sample in 3 to 5 spots to get an average hue angle.

You're looking for counter tops with a hue angle that's in the same range as Alabaster's.

Because those are the counter tops that directly relate to Alabaster in terms of hue family. In other words, they go together because they belong to the same hue family range.

Once you find the ones that relate, take home the biggest samples they'll give you and test, compare, visual check in the space.

Finally, you have to go to the warehouse and look at the full size slabs.

The alternative is you eyeball the comparison of samples without the support of color data values (measurements).

    I would use Lori's suggestion.

The only thing I can offer is a family member used Alabaster for her cabinets and is really pleased with how they work with her Silestone (Lagoon) quartz counters. That is, in her house.

Taj Mahal quartzite looks great with SW Alabaster cabinets. We did that combination in our home office. Caesarstone Frosty Carinna quartz with SW Alabaster might also be a good combination.

Jillian, which countertop did you end up choosing? I’m facing the same decision now. I like the bright white quartzes but I’m nervous they complement my alabaster cabinets.

I'm having the same problem. I love the creamy Alabaster, but not how it looks against a "starker" white quartz.

I’m curious what you ended up choosing. Have the same dilemma!
