Up your budget to 12-15K and you can use Ikea boxes, with laminate doors from a local cabinet company that does commercial cabinets. For a small kitchen. But that would be cabinets only, not any of the rest of the 2/3 of the rest of the expenses that remain out of a whole kitchen redo.

You can’t even do Ikea cabinets for 5K. Much less the high end custom to achieve that which would start at 10x that 5K figure.

There are many textures melamines that have that look. Only the ones in the lower teir range can get you close to the 5k price for doors only plus Ikea componets which woul be at least another 3k depending on size. The Armac Martin pictured hardware would be half your budget but the melamine is quite nice and the only real option.

$5,000? There must be a 0 missing. If not, you’re expectations are more for a mid 20th century remodel, not 21st...and, that would’ve been for run of the mill cabinets, not a custom job, as those cabs most certainly are.

If they were real white oak, they would be custom and you couldn't touch them for under 20K

(actually, the laminate replicates more of a bleached Walnut rather than Oak, and the price goes way up for genuine walnut)

if all you have is 5K, go to Builders Surplus and look at the range of cabs they have there. You will have to transport them, put them together and install them if you want to stay under 5K

I not post this to get chewed out about my budget… I have already sourced cabinets from a local comany in georgia around 4k

Save your money until you have a bigger budget. Blowing it on low quality terrible cabinets that will just have to be replaced in a few years is not a wise use of limited funds.

that's for a 10x10 kitchen. and they start at 4K. they tack on extras for soft close, pull out drawers, lazy susan, trim pieces, toe kicks, etc.

Now you have shipping and install. You're going to do that yourselves?

do you have a super small kitchen? Like, a base sink cabinet, ( doors are cheaper than drawers) and about 6 uppers?

drawers have more storage.

There are many US or Canadian (not European) textured melamines available that can work with a lower budget but what you are looking at isn’t pratical nor is it the final price you will pay when done. The only option worth putting a limited bubget into is Ikea. You can use their lowest price white doors which are incredible cheap and replace them at a later time with something like your photo. You will end up with a 10x better product that way. You can take the advice of someone with over thirty years of experience or click on that add and make the best of it. You asked for additional support there it is.

The KBIS Builders Show was just held in Orlando. Lots of new items making it to the market. Here is a company that is supposed to be less expensive. Of course, it's from China, but their costs are lower.

That is a terribly unsafe burn hazard and overall unworkable design! You'd do better to use second hand pieces of furniture and some restaurant prep tables in the mean time while you get a better design nailed down. Then buy an Ikea cabinet every payday until you were done.

Since i have all of the pros in one place, can you all check over my work? Attached you will find my original floor plan and also the updated layout which shows where I am trying to go. This will be my 7th renovation. First non rental grade because this will actually be my house. It’s an A Frame on 2 acres.

Read @Beth H. :’s reply. What she says is spot on. 4k is a starting price. If you want all the modern accutriments…dovetailed draws, soft close doors and draws, full extension draws, all draws for lower cabs, or doors with pullouts, lazy susans…those are all expensive add ons.

Noone is ”chewing you out” because of your budget. We are giving you a dose of reality. When the pandemic has caused the price of everything to go up exponentially, including and expecially the cost of wood, to think you would get kitchen cabinets even halfway decent, to fill a 10x12 kitchen for 4-5k, is delusional. Sorry if it’s not what you want to hear, but it’s just the way it is.

the costs are lower because of their labor and there are no regulations on the chemicals used to make those laminate products and finishes.

You could get similar wood cabs from overseas that aren't that expensive. That's why I mentioned Builders Surplus.

I would advise you to do more lower drawers rather than doors. at least do one bank of lower drawers.

Shop around and see what you can find. There are so many options out there, but you have to understand the recent 'crisis' has caused materials to skyrocket. plywood jumped from 18 a sheet to $70 a sheet! What do you think your cabinets are made from? (if they're really cheap they make them from fiberboard/chipboard, which you don't want) Now tack on the cost to drive those cabinets to and fro. gas where I live is $5.30 a gallon. Diesel isn't much cheaper. Wages have gone up because of this out of control inflation. All of this trickles down to consumers.

@darbuka If I decide to go with the picture I posted, they have what I need in stock. The company will not be restocking beyond current inventory and yes I have seen them in person. Even if my budget is 10k-15l I am specifically asking you all to send me somewhere and possible give me a solution, not a stern talking to. So now that the budget has been opened, do you have a place you can refer me to so that I can get this look?
