I definitely enjoy the piecing more. I used to send out quilts, then I purchased a longarm to do them myself. I still do not enjoy the quilting part. :)

I enjoy the piece and the quilting parts. If someone else would sandwich the silly things, I would be one happy camper!

I just don't know if I want someone else quilting my quilts, but I have no idea when I am going to finish them all!  If only I could quit my job and quilt full time instead!  ;-P
Jackie,  I assume the quilting goes faster on your longarm?  My friend has one and she's been bugging me to load a quilt and try it.  Honestly I am very intimidated by such a huge machine.  Was it easy to learn?

No need to feel stressed. They won't hurt you and you've had the joy of making the tops. It actually makes a person look pretty good when a donation is asked for all you have to do is say you have a couple of tops that need to be finished.......where should you send them. lol

It is faster on the longarm. It is not that hard to learn. You would learn faster having your friend there to teach you.

I've resigned myself to sending anything bigger than crib size to the long armer. (I have a great one with quick turnaround). Smaller quilts I use my walking foot to do simple grids and straight line quiting. They look pretty good to me. I rented time on a long arm machine for awhile which was fun but she moved and went out of business. I just can't stand having a lot of unfinished tops around. I like to finish them and move on.
