Need a recliner chair

Hello all, I am looking to get a recliner to replace the current gray one we have. I am not sure what color I should get. I am thinking of a caramel color, but I couldn’t find one that’s not chunky like. If it’s a small and narrow one, then the foot rest is too small that my legs would hang out of it. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I follow Laurel Bern--she's got a wicked sense of humor and is, to be honest, brutally frank, but her advice is wonderful and helpful. This post on recliners might be of interest.

These 2 from Flexsteel might work.

Why not a nice chair and ottoman then no issue with your legs and IMO just a nice look than most recliners

I have the Metro recliner from Souther Motion on order in navy leather. I am a larger woman and tried one at the store. It fit me very well.

Patricia Colwell Consulting maybe the op wants to actually recline.

happyde10 - I like the warm grey color you have now, but a caramel would work too. personally I'd go for fabric rather than leather. I'm pleasantly surprised by some of the styles at LaZBoy. Just be sure the back is high enough to actually support your head.

I have one from C&B (also swivels) in a blue velvet that I really like. But can get any material of course. I love caramel in general, but it seems like it would be the odd man out with all the other wood tones so close by. What about a textured neutral or a tweed-like fabric that incorporates the grays/tans

I dark gray/blue recliner to match your pillows and replace the panels in the kitchen area.

Thanks all for your suggestions. We need a recliner for my mom, and she uses it a lot, which is why I preferred leather for its durability. I thought caramel would go with our fireplace.

I just had a vision of Martin Crane’s recliner on Frazier. 😀

if you want leather, maybe a chair that style in chocolate brown? I feel like that would look better.

Consider lumbar support. We have expensive recliner types. The gray leather is a Stickley. It’s a bulky mission chair. An armchair look with pegs that let you recline it. Notice that the back cushion is flat. Thick cushion but no lumbar support. Our new chair, the black leather is Stressless brand. Perfect lumbar support and very comfortable. Also stylish with it’s matching end table that actually goes right into the chair if desired. Made in Norway and doesn’t look like a recliner.
