Design Dilemma Living Room Woodworking

New cedar railing

We have a lot of cedar Trim in our home, It does bring a little warmth to the room but I want a new design for my upper balcony railing and also for my stair railing but but still in the Cedar wood, Possibly I can reuse what I have. Anyone have suggestions on a new design for railings?

The cable is very modern so that is only a good option if you have furnished your house in that style. If not, plain black balusters would be a good choice. They're more style-flexible.

Hopefully you could re-use your cedar handrail and maybe fashion a base plate from the cedar as well.
