Refinishing ideas for 1980’s “modern” oak bedroom set

Hi all! I was hoping to get some ideas on what to do with a 1980’s “modern” oak bedroom set . It is a solid wood Stanley set in a style that is pretty unique to the decade . It is in pristine condition .The color has aged to an orange sort of tone that doesn’t blend well with contemporary colors . I want to use it in a guest bedroom in newly remodeled basement . It will sit on LVP flooring that is a warm gray /greige color .

The problem I am having is that the style , in my mind, really doesn’t lend itself to being painted . I could strip it and go lighter or darker with a gel stain, perhaps, but would like some ideas from the Houzz community .

I actually found photos on line of the same exact set. Apparently there are some in thrift stores and on eBay . I am posting them since mine are currently in storage . I also have a matching armoire, a headboard (in the same rounded shape as mirror with similar “rattan like” inserts) and 2 night stands .
Any and all suggestion would be greatly appreciated! Or let me know if you think I would be crazy to even attempt a refinish .
Thanks!
